Your Journey, Step by Step
Day 2: Tadapani to Dobato (3,350m/10,990ft)
Today, we will be leaving Tadapani as well as the Annapurna Base Camp trekking trail. Our trail enters a remote area of the Annapurna region. Where we get to appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of the region. We continue walking through the rhododendron forest and come across. You buffalo pastures. You get to see buffaloes, sheep, and goats grazing on the way. And with easily ascended hills, we go through the rhododendron forest again. Finally, around 5 hours’ walk with incredible scenery, traditional villages we reach Dobato. Overnight at Dobato.
Day 3: Dobato to Chistibung (2,975m/9,760ft)
From Dobato, we will have an amazing early morning uphill to Muldai View Point. It is around half an hour ascent. On reaching the viewpoint, you will have the finest sunrise view over giant mountains. It is an amazing place to observe the panorama of the Himalayan ranges. After a beautiful moment with the view from the Muldai viewpoint, we trek back to Dobato.
We will have breakfast in Dobato and leave for Chistibung. Our trail goes uphill and downhill in a moment. We pass through beautiful rhododendron forests again. And after some walk, we reach the beautiful pasture, Bayli Kharka. you will have a close-up view of Dhaulagiri range from here. Continuing our trek, we first reach Lower Chistibung. Then, we ascend through the forest and reach a temporary herder’s settlement, Upper Chistibung. Overnight at Chistibung.
Day 4: Trek to Khopra Danda (3,640m/11,942ft)
On this day, we are trekking to the final destination. We will have a delicious breakfast and leave for Khopra Ridge. We have a steady uphill trek. Then, the trail takes us above the tree line through alpine pastures. And continuous trek takes us to Khopra. On the way, you might see the Himalayan tahr and our national bird, Danphe. After Khopra, we have a short walk to Khopra Ridge overlooking the Kali Gandaki River far below.
On reaching Khopra Ridge, you cannot explain the beauty of the place. You get stunning views of the mountain panorama. Additionally, the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Nilgiri, and Bharasikhar are visible at close distances. We have a sunset view of these beautiful mountains. Overnight at Khopra.
Day 5: Explore Khopra Danda
It’s going to be an early day today. We will get up early in the morning and have a breathtaking sunrise view. And catch the first rays of the sun to hit the face of Mt. Dhaulagiri. After this wonderful experience, we are going to hike to a sacred place for Hindus. i.e. we are going to have an exhausting journey to Khayar Lake. After having a good breakfast, we start our trek in the early morning. We also pack our lunch as it is going on a long journey.
We are going to trek up the steep lower slopes of the Annapurna massif itself. This trek is going to be challenging with the most stunning Himalayan mountain scenery. On reaching Khayar Lake, you have outstanding views of Fang and the surrounding mountains. This lake sits in a steep valley with Annapurna high above. And you can view the south face of Mt. Annapurna with a reflection on the lake.
Khayar Lake is a famous lake for the Hindu belief, where they garland a statue of Shiva. It is also believed that bathing in the lake helps to meet Nirvana. Everything will mesmerize you and you will have lifelong memories from here. After a wonderful time here, we retrace the same trail to Khopra Ridge. Overnight at Khopra Ridge.
Day 6: Khopra Danda to Swanta Village (2,270m/7,447ft)
After breakfast in Khopra, we head toward Swanta village. Before leaving, we will look over surroundings and for the memories. From Khopra, we descend off the hillside and continue downhill on a steep trail. Then we cross the dense forest until we reach Ratmate. After Ratmate, we cross a small wooden bridge. Following the trail, with some ups and downs, we ascend through a bamboo forest. And finally, reach the Swanta village. Swanta is another beautiful village of Magar inhabitants. Overnight at Swanta village.
Day 7: Swanta to Ulleri (1,500m/4,921ft)
As we begin our trek from Swanta, our trail descends through the village field. And reach a small river where you have a quick look at the local watermill. Then we cross the suspension bridge and move upward to the Chhetri village. It was an easy trail with fewer ups and downs. On the way, we get to enjoy walking in the aroma of rhododendron. And we finally reach today’s stopover, Ulleri. Overnight at Ulleri.
Day 8: Drive from Ulleri to Pokhara
From Ulleri, we have a scenic drive to Pokhara. Enjoying the amazing hill landscape of the western, we reach the beautiful city of Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.
