Situated in Nepal’s Terai Region to the southwest, Bardia National Park spans an area of about 1000 square kilometers. Bardia National Park is made up of open grasslands, rivers full of islands, and a dry forest full of cotton and silk trees. Bardia National Park attracts visitors with its jungle excursions. Your Journey, Step by Step

Day 1: Fly to Nepalgunj and Drive to Bardia National Park

The initial part of your Bardia jungle adventure involves flying from Kathmandu to Bardia. The flight to Nepalgunj typically lasts between 40 minutes to an hour, providing a view of the snow-covered mountains right from your window seat. Additionally, you may catch glimpses of captivating scenes featuring jungles, meandering rivers, and verdant hillsides adorned with vegetation. Following the flight, a journey of 75 kilometers through a jungle-bordered road from Nepalgunj awaits, taking around 3 hours to complete. Upon reaching the resort, warm welcomes will be extended by hands at the entrance.

After you finish the paperwork, we will provide you with accommodation equipped with modern amenities. Later in the evening, you can explore the Tharu village to discover the traditions, lifestyle, and heritage of Nepal’s Tharu community.

You’ll get to explore the Elephant Breeding Center and take a tour of the village. Witness baby elephants playing with their moms. After that, enjoy watching the sunset by the Karnali River before heading to the resort for dinner. The evening is yours to relax as you please. This marks the beginning of your Bardia Jungle Safari Tour.

Day 2: Full day Jungle Walk Activities

Begin your morning with a rejuvenating wake-up call, then enjoy a breakfast at the resort. Next, join a guided half-day jungle trek led by naturalists and wildlife experts, providing a chance to spot various wild animals, small mammals, and birds. Along the way, you’ll also have an opportunity to spend time in the Tower (Machan) for a wildlife sighting.

Today there’s a full day program centered around tracking tigers and watching birds, including a lunch. This event offers a chance to catch sight of the Royal Bengal Tiger and various bird species residing in Bardia National Park. You’ll have opportunities to snap photos during the day.

Day 3: Full-Day Jeep Safari

Start your day off with breakfast. This will energize you for the rest of the day. Prepare for a full-day Jeep Safari expedition in the Bardia National Park. Accompanied by guides, you’ll navigate through the terrains of the national park in search of its wildlife. You might spot elephants and tigers while on this safari.

Day 4: Departure Day

Your last day in Bardia will start with breakfast before heading to Kathmandu. If you choose to fly, you’ll need to drive to Nepalgunj and catch a flight to Kathmandu. The length of your stay in Bardia will be determined by your flight schedule. The journey from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu by road takes 40 minutes.

This marks the conclusion of the Bardia Jungle Safari package. Alternatively, if you opt for a land journey, you should depart early in the morning to catch a bus. Upon returning to Kathmandu, you can check into a hotel. Relax. You can leisurely stroll through Thamel’s streets and shop for handicrafts and souvenirs at your pace.

    Best Time to Visit Bardia National Park

    The Bardia jungle safari tour is most enjoyable, from September to mid December or from February to May. The pleasant weather, in spring and autumn offers comfort and visibility increasing your chances of spotting wildlife during these times.

    The pleasant daytime temperatures, ranging from 25 to 37 degrees greatly increase the chances of spotting a Royal Bengal Tiger. Winter sets in, around mid December.
